Meet Team Warne Travis Gibson

I started shooting at 32 after deciding there was just too big of a chance for an ambulance ride with motocross and bull riding. Shooting is so much safer!

USPSA was where I started early in 2006, but after shooting my first 3 gun match, I decided that was going to be my primary focus. Requiring the shooter to be skilled with rifle and shotgun as well as pistol is what makes 3 gun such a challenge for me.

Other shooting disciplines I regularly compete in besides 3 gun are long-range rifle, USPSA, and Steel Challenge.
I make it to most of the nation’s top 3 gun matches, and I do my very best to be a good representative of all my sponsors. Great sportsmanship, integrity, friendliness, and patriotism are just a few of the characteristics I try to demonstrate at every event I attend. The following companies have entrusted me to represent them: MGM Targets, Caracal USA, Hornady, Vortex Optics, EMG Customs, Proof Research, Warne Scope Mounts, Safariland, Howard Leight, XGO,
Surefire LLC., Dueck Defense, Liberty Gun Lubricants, Nextbelt,

In an effort to help grow the shooting sports and give back to the community, I frequently do “ladies only” handgun classes and junior classes at very low rates, or even no charge.

I’ve started two Steel Challenge clubs in the Treasure Valley that have grown to over 100 participants on a weekly basis.
Another program I am involved with is the MGM Junior Pistol Camp and the MGM Junior 3 Gun Camp. It is a competition shooting camp for junior shooters held at Parma Idaho every July. We have six of the world’s best shooters (multiple national and world championship titles) as instructors for the pistol camp and are able to take up to 65 kids over the two-and-a-half-day class. We have the same number of instructors for the 2-1/2 day 3 Gun Camp. Two years ago I was honored to be selected as one of the instructors for the 3 Gun Camp. We have been told by several parents that this was a “life-changing event” for their children.

Meet Team WARNE Charles Tate Moots

I asked Tate what advice would he give other shooters and those just getting into competition shooting and here is his answer.
Meet Team WARNE Charles Tate Moots I asked Tate what advice would he give other shooters and those just getting into competition shooting and here is his answer. "I am fortunate to have A LOT of competition, law enforcement, and military shooting training. I have been at it for a long time and love to help others to be better at it! I love shooting “fast and furious”, long-range and everything in-between. I have shot on the USA1 3gun team for two World shoots and the furthest shot taken with witnesses on target was 2520 yards. The best advice I can give anyone is to be safe and have fun. If you want something, work HARD enough to earn it. Get the training to enable your goals. Be patient with yourself. Be an ambassador for our 2nd amendment by representing the shooting industry with professionalism. Show others how wonderful our freedoms are in a safe manner. For hunters, be ethical and train to harvest animals as quickly as possible. Don’t just go to the range and shoot a couple of times to ensure your rifle shoots close enough off a bench, go do some training to test your skills in quick positions and know your individual limits. Go to an NRL Hunter match and develop great skills while learning your limits under a little mental stress." Then I asked what are your go-to shooting setups? His reply was " If I’m shooting a 3-gun match, I grab my DPMS G2 with Leupold MK6 mounted with a WARNE SKEL mount. If I’m shooting a PRS match I grab my rifle of choice for that match, according to the match rules, with a Leupold MK5 mounted with a WARNE Skyline Precision Mount, WARNE Universal Scope Level, WARNE Precision Bipod. If I’m going to an NRL Hunter match or Hunt, I grab my rifle of choice with Leupold MK5 or VX3 LRP mounted with WARNE Mountain Tech rings and WARNE Universal Scope Level."
