For example, Warne mounts intended for MSRs, such as the XSKEL series, are built to a specific height and feature a forward cantilever for a reason. On a flattop MSR like an AR-15, the scope needs enough height for the shooter to comfortably see through it. This height on a typical bolt-action rifle would be considered ultra-high.

While the XSKEL can be used on a typical bolt-action rifle, it is not an ideal fit, and there may be better options available for that application.
